Team Monitoring: How to Organize Monitors With Projects, Roles, and Shared Alerts

Solo developers can manage 10 monitors in a flat list. But when your team grows — or when you manage monitoring for multiple clients — you need structure. Monitorion's project system lets you organize monitors by client, service, or environment, with role-based access and independent alert routing.

Projects: Organize by Client or Service

A project is a container for monitors that belong together. Common patterns:

• By client — "Acme Corp" project with their website, API, and DNS monitors
• By environment — "Production", "Staging", "Development" projects
• By service — "Payment System", "User Auth", "CDN" projects

Each project has its own team members, monitors, and status page. A monitor belongs to either a project or your personal account — never both.

Invite team members by email. They receive an invitation and can join the project immediately. No separate account creation needed — if they already have a Monitorion account, the project appears in their sidebar.

Shared Alerts

Alert channels are configured per user, but project monitors send alerts to all project members who have the relevant channel enabled. If three team members have Slack configured, all three receive the Slack alert when a project monitor goes down.

For more granular control, use per-monitor alert channel selection to route critical monitors to PagerDuty while sending informational monitors to Slack only.

SLA Tracking Per Client

For agencies managing client infrastructure, Monitorion's tenant/SLA tracking lets you assign monitors to specific clients and generate per-client SLA reports. Each client gets their own uptime percentage, response time metrics, and incident history — ready for monthly reporting.
