Opsgenie support ends 5 April 2027

Leaving Opsgenie? You may not need a replacement.

Plenty of teams ran Opsgenie for one reason: their monitoring could not wake anybody up. If that is you, the migration is a chance to collapse two products into one rather than swap one per-seat bill for another.

No credit card. No per-seat pricing at any tier.

Who this page is for

Opsgenie is mature incident management — layered schedules, routing rules, overrides, stakeholder communication, deep ITSM integration. Monitorion is an uptime monitor with on-call built in. Those are different products and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Worth your time if…

You are a small team whose alerts were mostly “a thing we run stopped responding”, and Opsgenie existed to turn that into a phone call.

Look elsewhere if…

You depend on complex routing, multi-layer schedules with overrides, or ITSM workflows. Jira Service Management, PagerDuty, incident.io and AlertOps are the serious options.

The deadline, in order

  • 4 June 2025 — New Opsgenie sales stop. Editions can no longer be upgraded or downgraded and no new sites can be added, though existing customers can still buy seats.
  • October 2025 — Teams whose Opsgenie came bundled with Jira Service Management lose access.
  • 5 April 2027 — End of support, 12:00 AM PST. Opsgenie shuts down and unmigrated data is deleted.

Export before you migrate, whichever way you go.Alert history moved into Jira Service Management falls under JSM retention rather than Opsgenie Enterprise’s indefinite retention, and older alerts are then deleted automatically and unrecoverably. Take the export while you still can.

Questions

When exactly does Opsgenie stop working?

Atlassian ends support on 5 April 2027 at 12:00 AM PST, after which Opsgenie is no longer accessible and unmigrated data is deleted. New sales stopped on 4 June 2025, and teams whose Opsgenie was bundled with Jira Service Management lost access in October 2025. Existing contracts are honoured until their term ends or 5 April 2027, whichever comes first.

Is Monitorion a replacement for Opsgenie?

For a small team, often yes. For an enterprise, no — and we would rather say so. Opsgenie is mature incident management: complex routing rules, layered schedules, overrides, stakeholder comms, deep ITSM integration. If you depend on that, your realistic options are Jira Service Management, PagerDuty, incident.io or AlertOps. Monitorion suits the team that used Opsgenie for one job: notice something is broken and wake the right person.

What is the catch with moving to Jira Service Management?

Two things worth knowing before you default to it. Alert data moved into JSM becomes subject to JSM retention policies rather than Opsgenie Enterprise indefinite retention, and older alerts are deleted automatically and unrecoverably — so export anything you need to keep before migrating. Second, advanced operations features sit behind JSM Premium, so the per-seat economics can differ noticeably from what you pay today. Practitioners generally budget six to sixteen weeks depending on how many integrations you have.

We only used Opsgenie because our monitoring could not page anyone.

Then you have been running two products to do one job, and the migration is a chance to stop. Monitorion runs the checks and does the paging: HTTP, ping, ports, SSL and domain expiry, API and keyword checks, browser transactions and more, with escalation policies and on-call rotation on top. One product, one bill, no routing layer in between.

How does the pricing compare?

The structural difference matters more than the number: we do not charge per seat. Pro is $29/month flat for 100 monitors, 1-minute checks, three checking regions, phone-call alerts and 50 SMS a month, whether two people or twenty are on the rota. Free covers 25 monitors with email alerts and no card.

One product instead of two

Monitoring and on-call in the same place, with a flat price however many people are on the rota. Start free with 25 monitors — you have until April 2027, but the export is worth doing today.
